More Than a Job: Life on the Milestones Team

Walk into Milestones Behavioral Services on any given day and you’ll find smiles, laughter, and
a team that truly loves what they do. Every member is part of a close-knit group with one shared
goal: helping individuals with autism and their families thrive.

Milestones provides applied behavior analysis (ABA) services for individuals with autism and
other developmental disabilities, helping them build communication, social, and everyday life
skills in a supportive, positive setting. With locations in Lake Charles and Jennings, Milestones
serves families across Southwest Louisiana through clinic-based services, in-home support, and
family education.

Melissa Raymond, founder and clinical director of Milestones, invests in every person she brings
onto the team. That investment starts with finding the right fit.
“We look for people who are genuinely excited and passionate about helping our clients grow,”
Raymond said. “Our team gets to have a lot of fun, but every moment of play has a purpose.
Behind each session is thoughtful planning and careful data collection. That balance of joy and
precision is what sets our services apart.”

Many of the Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians
(RBTs) at Milestones say the supportive work environment makes all the difference.
“Everybody here is so supportive, and everything feels easier because we have such a great team.
You’re never left alone on anything,” said RBT Amber Potter.
For Administrator Kaitlynn Romero, that support is her favorite part of the job. “I love the
support system we have here, and getting to interact and build relationships with our clients,” she
said.

The spirit of collaboration is at the heart of how Milestones operates. BCBAs provide frequent
hands-on supervision, and everyone comes together for weekly team meetings. That teamwork
allows Milestones to deliver the most comprehensive care possible to every client and family it
serves.

Raymond also encourages her team to continue their education and earn additional credentials,
with raises as they progress through Milestones’ training program, plus performance-based
bonuses along the way. This keeps Milestones’ standard of care high, and it helps team members
build skills that will serve them well beyond Milestones and the field of applied behavior
analysis.

“At Milestones, growth for our staff is just as important as growth for our clients,” Raymond
said. “Every one of our line technicians and staff members has a portfolio where they set goals
with their supervisor and work toward them. That growth comes right back to providing the best
possible service to our clients.”
Raymond sees her role as a chance to give her team real-world experience they’ll carry with them
throughout their careers and their lives. Just as the team celebrates every milestone their clients
reach, they get to celebrate their own, too. But for many team members, the most rewarding part
of the job is seeing their clients grow.

“I love working at Milestones because I love watching our little ones come in with big smiles on
their faces, running up to give hugs, and getting to see them learn and succeed,” said BCBA
Ashley Lawrence.

At Milestones, every team member is valued, supported, and celebrated, and that care is at the
heart of its high-quality ABA services. For anyone looking for a career where they can make a
real difference in the lives of children and families, there’s a place for you on the Milestones
team. Visit MilestonesBehavioral.com/Jobs or email info@milestonesbehavioral.com to learn
