Behavior Analysis focuses on the principles that explain how learning takes place. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) uses these principles to bring about meaningful and positive change to behavior. The teaching methods of ABA have been well researched and shown to be effective in creating behavioral changes. Positive reinforcement, among other principles, are applied to create increases in desirable behavior (language, play, communication) and decreases in problematic behaviors (tantrums, aggression, self-stimulatory behaviors).
